Redbridge Lane
I do not know whether this is the bridge which gave its name to the road, I suspect not. In actual fact there is nothing underneath this single lane humpback bridge.

Bridge at Basing
This hump-backed bridge takes a minor road across the line of the former Basingstoke Canal. There is virtually nothing to be seen of the canal below and this section will almost certainly never be restored, but the bridge, on a double bend, still remains.

Two gates
The boundary of Basingstoke Common where the public footpath joins an access road to a private dwelling. The modern metal gate by not be as appealing to the eye as a stile but it is easier to navigate for many people.

A collection of gates
The corner where the footpath crosses Basingstoke Common. The woodland in the middle distance on the slight hill is the site of Basing House. The footpath, as signposted, heads south towards the A30.

Footpath across fields
View of the public footpath between the A30 and Old Basing. The actual path follows the boundary between two fields (trees to the right) but this is overgrown and very muddy.
