Castle Square
The tired, old part of the shops in Basingstoke town centre. There are plans to revitalise the area. Difficult given the rather brutal nature of the architecture.
UPDATE (Dec 2015 view): a new roof was built over the square, see Image for a similar view 6 years later.

Sleep Well - Loddon Mall
The barriers are in place to help enforce the town centre oneway system during the Covid-19 pandemic. When this view was taken most shops were in fact closed under the 'second lockdown' and there were few people about.
