The Oxford Road area, also known as Reading West, is a cosmopolitan mix of nations, with shops catering for all diets. And it's always worth looking at the upper floors, to some of the best Reading brickwork in the area.

Prospect Terrace, Oxford Road
Built in the mid-19th century, originally smart town houses which have since been converted to flats (and need a lot of bins).
The terrace is Grade II listed - see English Heritage description http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1113548 .

The writing on the wall
Almost hidden if you get any closer, this is just visible with a telephoto lens held above your head and the hedge. It says "H. Jackson Ladies and Gents Tailor". It is on a private house.
