This used to be a small shopping mall (building with flag on) on Friar Street which went through to Station Hill; it was built after the Broad Street mall but closed a few years ago. It is now due to be redeveloped.

Novotel and Ibis Hotels, Friar Street
The two hotels occupy this striking new addition to Friar Street. As Reading doesn't have much in the way to attract tourists, I assume most of the customers are businessmen.

Friar Street
Friar Street where Woolies used to come out though as can be seen has been redeveloped. There used to be a couple of old pubs down here that have now gone, plus my favourite book shop the Friar Street book shop.
