Wayfarers Arcade, Southport
Wayfarers Arcade, originally the Leyland Arcade after the town's MP, was opened in 1898 and is now grade II listed. It contains 30 shops and is clearly well into the festive spirit.

Waterstones book shop, Lord Street
I should think that this was one of Southport's splendid bank buildings. One of the town's traffic jams is also in view, and this meant that I had plenty of time to include the veteran car in the picture.

Top of the Halls of the Gods
The top of the HSBC bank on Lord Street, otherwise known as the "Halls of the Gods" Image Built in 1888 by the Preston Bank to the designs of E.W. Johnson and incorporting the Preston Coat of Arms. The Corinthian facade is deemed by some to be the finest example in the North of England.
