Wayfarers Arcade, Southport
Wayfarers Arcade, originally the Leyland Arcade after the town's MP, was opened in 1898 and is now grade II listed. It contains 30 shops and is clearly well into the festive spirit.

Wayfarers Arcade
The arcade, a grade 2 listed building, was opened in 1898 and named Leyland Arcade after the resort's MP at the time. Its name was changed to Burton Arcade to reflect a change of ownershop during the Second World War. It acquired its current name in the 1970s.

Halls of the Gods
Built in 1888 by the Preston Bank to the designs of E.W. Johnson and incorporting the Preston Coat of Arms. The Corinthian facade is deemed by some to be the finest example in the North of England. It is currently a branch of the HSBC. Image Image

Top of the Halls of the Gods
The top of the HSBC bank on Lord Street, otherwise known as the "Halls of the Gods" Image Built in 1888 by the Preston Bank to the designs of E.W. Johnson and incorporting the Preston Coat of Arms. The Corinthian facade is deemed by some to be the finest example in the North of England.

The Preston Bank, Lord Street
Now occupied by the HSBC. Pevsner states that the architect was E W Johnson and that it was built in 1888-9. Inside there is a dome supported by ten polished granite columns. Presumably that is Neptune on the top.
