Sandown Court from Leicester Street, Southport
Sandown Court stands where there used to be a large detached house called 'Sandown'. The official entrance to this hi-rise block is from Albert Road, but this view is from Leicester Street.

Gordon House, Leicester Street, Southport
Looking across Leicester Street towards the modern office block called Gordon House - the name presumably taken from Gordon Street, which is on the right. The offices include the Southport Theory Test Centre: http://www.drivingtesttips.biz/southport-theory-test-centre.html
The 1890 Town Plans show that the site of Gordon House was once occupied by a pair of large semi-detached houses called 'Homeleigh' and 'Westernleigh'. This explains the stylish old stone gateposts, which look somewhat incongruous in front of the modern building.
