Ivy Bridge viewed from Avenham Park, Preston
This ornate little bridge used to carry a railway line through the park. Sadly, the days of trains passing over this bridge are long gone. The line is now a foot and cycle path. This photo was taken from the Avenham Park side of the bridge. Miller Park can be seen through the arch. For the view from the other side of the bridge see: Image The building on the left is Avenham Park Lodge. See Image

East Lancashire line bridge at Miller Park, with an old L&Y tank engine
View eastward, just south of Preston Station (East Lancashire side) - a misleadingly bucolic scene. On the bridge is ex-Lancashire & Yorkshire 2F 0-6-0 saddle-tank No. 51423, shunting Butler Street Yard. Note the coat of arms on the bridge.
