Preston Open Market, Earl Street, Preston
Under this Victorian canopy, a market is held on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. It is presumably called the Open Market, as the structure is open on all sides. The people gathering behind the temporary barriers were waiting for the Preston Guild Trades Procession, which was due to pass this point about 11.30 am. The Preston Guild only happens once every twenty years, so the next will not be until 2032.
