Howard Road ascends eastwards from the A3055 Sandown Road.
A 20mph speed limit remains on the road surface in early September 2015,
though the building on the left no longer houses Gatten & Lake Primary School
which has been in a newly-built school in Oaklyn Gardens, 200 metres away, since September 2013.
