The road in the foreground is Eastcliff Promenade which makes a right turn into Osborne Road. At the end of Eastcliff Promenade a footpath continues, which is part of the Coastal Path. The seafront and beach are on the left, but at a much lower level. There are paths and a cliff lift near here which give access.

On the other side of the railings is the beach and seafront, but these are at a considerably lower level. That is why a cliff lift has been provided. Photographed from near the end of Palmerston Road.
