Ryde: looking down George Street towards the hovercraft
We look down the pretty steep northern segment of George Street towards The Solent, just as a hovercraft departs for Portsmouth, whose cityscape we see in the background. The Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth's tallest and most recognisable landmark, is at the extreme right of the picture.

Ryde: former Royal York Hotel
Situated in George Street, this old art deco hotel looks as though it should be on a street corner but it is not. It had seen better days when pictured in 2009 (Image) but it is now closed and apparently unloved. Curiously the two letter Rs are all that remain from the signage above the porch.
