The Fountain, Town Quay
The bus is negotiating the very tight entrance to Town Quay. The driver has to line up the vehicle precisely, with inches to spare. The exit, to the right, is not much wider. However, this entrance is used every 15 minutes by the service from Newport to here, the Cowes terminus of the Red Jet catamaran service to Southampton.

Cowes ferry terminal
The terminal is behind me. This is the row of shops that greets the visitor arriving from Southampton, together with the frequent and convenient bus to Newport. The Red Jet high-speed ferry service was being well used on the first day after the Christmas and Boxing Day Public Holidays.

Town Quay, Cowes
Southern Vectis buses from Newport terminate here adjacent to the Red Funnel ferry terminal. The cream coloured building is the Fountain Inn - traffic coming onto the quay approaches through the inn's archway - a tight turn off the narrow High Street for the buses.

Entrance to Red Funnel terminal, The Arcade
The terminal building for the Red Funnel Red Jet catamaran service to Southampton is at the end of The Arcade. This entrance looks narrow yet is used by the 15-minute Southern Vecrtis bus service from Ventnor. Very occasionally the driver gets it wrong, as evidenced by the chunks out of the pillars.
