Quiet enough now, but the A3054 is not very wide at Shalfleet and unfortunately there are traffic lights here which can cause hold ups in the middle of this pleasant village.

Shalfleet
is the largest village on the Newport to Yarmouth road. It is situated where the road crosses the Caul Bourne (one of the tributaries of the Newtown River), the narrow bridge being controlled by traffic lights. Looking east towards the bridge.
