The Lion, Nyetimber Lane
The Lion in Nyetimber Lane is believed to probably date from the 15th century, and was reputedly a smugglers haunt. It contains a priest’s hole and a secret panel in one of the bedrooms. Supposedly it has a tunnel to nearby Barton Manor, a very old house which is claimed to be the oldest inhabited house in the UK. Image (Contains links to other pictures of The Lion).
