Recreation Ground at Seafield Park
With a football pavilion with changing facilities and 60 parking spaces at the far side (see Image). A notice by Fareham Borough Council states "Seafield Park has been planned as a pleasant public open space aimed at encouraging football playing, walking and dog exercising. It is not intended for golf, horses, motor bikes or any other use."
Regarding its history, the notice states "The original main building on the site was built in 1872 and used as a school for many years. It was requisitioned by the Admiralty in 1939 as a Signal Training School, but was destroyed by fire in 1946. In 1955 it became the Royal Naval Survival Equipment School but in 1991 this school relocated to HMS Daedalus. However, the sports fields were still in active use and owned by the Ministry of Defence. Seafield Park came into Fareham Borough Council ownership in March 2005 [? year illegible]. In March 2007 the Council began preparing and improving the ground to provide the football facilities available today, and designated the park as a public open space and sports facility."
