It would be easy to pass this pub without noticing it, so well does it blend in with the other buildings on Hooe Road, which is perhaps why it has been painted in a startling shade of blue.

Shute Quay, Hooe
This formed the traditional water supply for the then small village of Hooe. It is fed from a spring on Staddon Hill and is said to never dry up. Here there is no more than a trickle at the right hand side.

Hooe Barn
The barn dates from the 17th/18th century and formed part of the former manor house complex. Clearly in deteriorating condition. Listed Grade II.

Hooe Road, Hooe
Hooe Road skirts the southern end of Hooe Lake before turning into Church Hill Road and heading on to Mountbatten. In this view are the premises of McMullin Motors which always have a selection of used cars for sale on the forecourt.
