Houndiscombe Road junction with Sutherland Road
This street view shows the road junction between Houndiscombe Road and Sutherland Road with the small triangular area of open space just behind the telephone box. Sutherland Road is shown on the right heading out of the picture and at which point it begins its descent into the valley. Houndiscombe Road continues into the distance at the centre of the photograph. Image To the right of the picture is the row of terraced houses known as 'Houndiscombe Villas'. Image A passing thought: one wonders if the telephone box shown at the road junction may be one element of a street scene which is likely to disappear in the near future as we move into the age of the mass use of the mobile phone.
