Roche Crossroads
The road junction at the centre of the village has one or two shops and a road with a surprising number of heavy goods vehicles rumbling through it.

Roundabout and Temperance Hall in Roche
There is a painting by Ruskin Spear of this hall in the series "Recording the changing face of Britain" dating from 1940. The scheme ran alongside the official War Artists' Scheme.

Roche
The village of Roche, pronounced "Roach", is situated between Goss Moor to the north and the St Austell granite to the south. It is one of Cornwall's "clay" villages. The main industry hereabouts being the extraction of china clay. This photograph is looks north towards the village centre on the road from St Austell. The yellow building in the foreground is the Poacher's Inn.
