The Fountain Inn, 2 Cliff Street, Mevagissey
Grade II Listed late 19th century inn. It is believed to stand on the site of the first recorded settlement of Mevagissey and claims to be the oldest pub in the village. Described on its website as a 15th century Inn, it was one of the first Inns to be purchased by Walter Hicks, the founder of St Austell Brewery, in 1883 for the sum of £850. Directory entries include; 1830-1852 Thomas Marshall; 1856 Mrs Elizabeth Marshall; 1873 Samuel Sarah; 1883 John Foard; 1889-1902 Thomas R Williams; 1906 Samuel Williams; 1914 William Robins Williams.
