Gover Road, St Austell
in the St Austell suburbs to the west of the town centre. Housing covers the valley floor and the south facing slopes but wisely the steep north facing slopes have been left to the trees.

Park House flats St Austell
Cornwall's only high rise block of flats, at 11 storeys in height, houses 67 flats. After its 41 years of existence with a drab rendered finish it was redecorated in 2009 in this sky blue colour scheme, causing 'outrage' amongst local residents when scaffolding was removed and the finished job was exposed to view. People living in the flats were asked to choose between green and lilac, magenta and lilac, two tones of green, light green and blue, and blue and white. Thirty-one out of the 43 who voted chose blue and white but other residents in the Gover Valley complained that they are the ones who have to look at it. Personally, I think it's a great improvement.
