Jack Leslie was born in East London and signed for Plymouth Argyle in 1921. During 400 appearances for the club he scored 137 goals. He retired in 1934 due to injury. He was the first Black football player to be selected for England in 1925, however his place was denied before the game took place due to the colour of his skin.
