The New Perseverance Iron Works, Tavistock
This is the HQ of the Robey Trust and houses a variety of products of the Lincoln firm of Robey. These are mainly stationary and road steam engines. This was an early recipient of lottery funding and is a most impressive site. The picture was against the light and there was also a bonfire adding to the general "fug".

Robey Trust - steam engines
The Robey trust exists to preserve the products of Robey & Co Ltd of Lincoln, including road steam engines and stationary engines. Here is a row of three inverted vertical open crank engines. Closest to the camera is a rare tandem compound driving a dynamo.

The Robey Trust
In addition to a collection of road steam engines the Robey Trust is home to a collection of Robey stationary steam engines. Three horizontal single cylinder engines, a vertical boiler and an air compressor are included in this corner of the large storage building. Since then the Trust has acquired a E class drop valve engine a B class horizontal single cylinder and a very ruinous undertype.

Robey Trust - steam rollers
Nearest the camera is Robey tri-tandem roller No. 45655 of 1930 and behind it is tandem roller No. 42693 of 1925.This was the engine that started the Trust off in 1983. See - http://www.therobeytrust.co.uk/index.htm

Robey Trust - tri-tandem steam roller
Robey No. 45655 built in 1930 and bought by Wirksworth Qiuarries. It was converted from a tandem to a tri-tandem and was later involved in rolling part of the M1 motorway.
