The village of Tregadillett from the edge of the A30
A public footpath crosses the field to the village; it links the village with the farm at Penfoot, but is little used

Lay-by on A30 near Tregadillett
This section of the A30 by-passes Tregadillett (also spelt with one final "T") and runs in a slight cutting which reduces the impact of noise on the residents. The steps are part of a public footpath which crosses the road here (although I doubt if many people use it!)

Eliot Arms, Tregadillett
According to http://www.cornwallsfinest.co.uk/ShowDetails.asp?id=755 , the C14 building was a coaching inn in the C17 known as the Square and Compass. Having been a blacksmith's for a while it was restored in 1840 as the Eliot Arms, and now seems to have both names.

This is typical of the lay-bys on the A30 dual carriageway with a kerb to give some protection to users of the parking area.

The Eliot Arms, Tregadillett
This fine pub, conveniently placed just off the A30, was formerly known as the Square and Compass. The old name still appears in smaller letters on the nearer signboard (on the facing wall), but it must be admitted that that signboard could do with a touch of paint!

The A30 dual carriageway by-passes the village of Tregadillett in a shallow cutting. On the eastbound carriageway there is a lay-by, with a signposted public footpath up steps; the picture is from the top of the steps
