Pondbridge Hill, Liskeard
A short hill seen from the junction with Bay Tree Hill and Fore Street, and which continues up the far slope as Cannon Hill. "Unfortunately this view is marred by the gaping holes of demolished buildings and inappropriately scaled and detailed modern developments." http://www.historic-cornwall.org.uk/csus/towns/liskeard/csus_liskeard_report_2005R049.pdf . On the right is the modern (1902) tower of St Martin's Church.

Woolworths
This site has been Woolworths for many a year. I understand that this is the smallest Woolworths in the country. The pasty shop just along was much busier on saturday morning. The building in rear was the former Cornish times Office which moved to Webs when the Webs building was done up.

Warehouse, Liskeard
I think this solid stone building with a crane and 'taking in' doors must have been a warehouse. Although looking a bit rough around the edges it still has an air of solidity.

Liskeard Pipewell
This is not really a well but a spring which has been built around and the water channelled through pipes. It is in a back lane in Liskeard town centre appropriately called 'Well Lane'. The well surrounds date mostly from the early 19th century, although records of this well go back to the 14th century. A notice next to the well tells us that the water is said to possess healing virtues and lucky effects in matrimony. Another notice warns sternly that the water is unfit to drink!
