Trinity House accommodation for fog horn station Penlee Point
The foghorn station itself was demolished in about 1980 but the accommodation block still stands and is now known as 'The Old Signal House'.
When the horns blew the sound could be heard all over Plymouth.

Queen Adelaide's Seat on Penlee Point
This view of the little grotto known as Queen Adelaide's Seat is from slightly further down the hill to the southeast looking back up at it. Queen Adelaide was the consort of King William IV, known as "The Sailor King", so presumably Adelaide sat here watching hubby messing about in boats on the sea below her.
