River Earn, Dalpatrick
Looking towards the road end on the northern bank. This is the easy side of the mapped ford, as there is deep and fast water under the southern bank.

River Earn
Taken while crossing the river upstream of the mapped ford. The former road crossing has been blocked by scouring of the river bed and there is a deep hole full of fast flowing water immediately under the south bank. I crossed by wading upstream for a while before crossing knee deep water (the river was low).

Dalpatrick Ford
A difficult or impossible ford for most vehicles. Not only is the River Earn fast flowing but the crossing is not straight across - the exit from the ford is about 40 yards up-river. Judging from the marks in the mud, it is only tractors which make this crossing.

River Earn, Dalpatrick
The ford marked here is difficult. The flow of the river is now concentrated on the south bank and a hole has been scoured here, right in the middle of the strongest current. To cross, you need low water and to go upstream for about 50m before crossing. Not easy even in these conditions.

Ford, Dalpatrick
The road is overgrown as the ford is not easy. The water is deep and fast flowing under this bank leaving 90% of the crossing as trivially easy while nigh on impossible for the first few metres. I got across by following the river upstream some distance before crossing.

Dalpatrick Ford
A deep crossing of the River Earn on an unmade lane. The ford can be seen in a shallower state, with much of the river-bed exposed at http://vamp.idlers.org/~jaffa/perth.htm
