St Kessog's Square, Comrie
For many years this was the site of the Comrie Garage. After this was demolished the land was going to be developed for housing, but was put on hold due to a down-turn in the economic situation. The local community persuaded the developer to allow a temporary car park, attractive planted area and seating to be constructed rather than have a derelict site in the centre of the village. This was christened 'Bumblebee Square' and proved to be useful and popular asset to the village. The developer submitted new plans to build a shop unit and flats, but then an anonymous donor gave enough money for Comrie Parish Church to buy the land for the benefit of the community. It is now named St Kessog's Square.
