Kinlochleven From On High
Kinlochleven was the site of an early hydro-electric scheme which saw the construction of the Blackwater reservoir and a power station in 1907. This was to supply power to an aluminium smelter, and led to the expansion of the town. The smelter closed in 1996.

Kinlochleven from the West Highland Way
Part of the West Highland Way is a fourteen mile stretch between Kinlochleven and Fort William. This photo shows one viewpoint on this stretch, looking down on Kinlochleven at the head of Loch Leven.

Lochaber Road, Kinlochmore
Lochaber Road forms part of the B863 road as it makes its way around Loch Leven. Originally this would have been part of the main road southwards from Fort William towards Glencoe and Oban, until a bridge was built at Ballachulish in the 1970s. The Ballachulish bridge enabled the main road to take a more direct route, avoiding Kinlochmore.
