Kirkton - a new golf course
Former farm, now surrounded by the construction work on a new golf course, most references I can find suggest that for now it is called "G-West" although will no doubt be marketed with some Norman sounding aristocratic name eventually. It is not part of the Gleneagles complex.

Kirkton in the distance
A view of Kirkton Farm, around which a new (and independent from Gleneagles) golf course is being developed, seen from the Queen's Course at Gleneagles.

G - West construction
Golf course construction around Kirkton. Another of the new breed of luxury golf courses that are becoming a common and in other locations controversial feature in Scotland. As well as the course, housing is included in the plan, as has happened in East Lothian and is planned for the Meanie Estate north of Aberdeen. The extensive glacial deposits here make ideal terrain for challenging golf, as is well known at the neighbouring Gleneagles complex.

Major works at the farm
Normal farming activity seldom demands a warning sign like this, but these are no normal farming works. Right alongside the multiple golf courses that make up the golf complex of Gleneagles, this is yet another golf course (independent of Gleneagles) that is under construction on what was Kirkton farm.

Main Driveway up to Brookfield House
Road up to main gates of the House. As a matter of interest this was originally called The Manse. Whether it was associated with The Auld Kirk, perhaps some local historian can fill in details. It now seems to be restricted, gaining access to the old track up to Woodside. Woodside isn't mentioned on latest map, although building is still there on it.

Yet another golf course, G - West
Road under construction behind Brookfield, while diggers and earth movers make more of a mess elsewhere constructing a golf course. The sandy ground here has probably helped as elsewhere the endless rains have caused problems with moving heavy equipment around. This is not part of the existing Gleneagles complex, but a different enterprise.
