Tarbet: the old chapel

Leaving Tarbet
On board the MV Western Isles. The perfect way to return to Mallaig after a walk alongside Loch Morar. Ten minutes by train to Morar completes the round trip.

Tarbet and adjoining hills, Loch Nevis
This view was from the Mallaig ferry as it entered Tarbet Bay. The deep cleft in the hills allows foot access, via a lengthy path and track, to and along the northern shore of Loch Morar - eventually leading to the village of Morar itself. Otherwise, Tarbet is wholly reliant on the periodic ferry service for connection with the outside world beyond Loch Nevis.

Interesting 'sculpture' at Tarbet
Artfully made out of wine bottles and with a champagne magnum to top it! A bothy being renovated in the distance.

Tarbet Bay
Old chapel, (now a house), on the left, slipway at centre and ferry pier to right. The local electricity generator is in the small shed at the top of the bright green field. What a wonderful spot that is connected to the world by ferry to Mallaig and a 7.5 mile footpath to Bracara.
