Old Bridge Piers on the River Oich
The railway from Spean Bridge crossed the River Oich on its way to the pier at Fort Augustus. The line closed in 1946. Little or no trace of either railway or pier exists. The site of Fort Augustus station is lost under the campus of Kilchuimen Academy.

The railway from Fort William stopped at Fort Augustus. A steamer then provided a service up the loch.
