St. Kessogs
A Scottish Episcopal Church in Auchterarder. St. Kessog was born circa 460AD in Munster, Eire. He came to Scotland circa 500AD and built a monastery on the island now known as Inchtavannoch near Luss on Loch Lomond. He travelled far and wide throughout what was then known as Lennox evangelising. He was killed by brigands circa 520AD at Bandry - a cairn was raised in his memory at Bandry and became a site for pilgrimage. His name was for a time used as a rallying cry for troops all over scotland. He is sometimes known as St.MacKessog. Fuller details can be found at http://www.stkessog.org.uk/st_kessog.htm.

Hoardings And Auchterarder Motors
Fittingly for a photo taken on a day of elections to the Scottish Parliament, Alex Salmond - leader of the Scottish National Party - stares across the street from an advertising hoarding. His party will make historic gains, mainly at the expense of the Labour Party. Next door stands the premises of Auchterarder Motors, looking like it has seen better days. The shop appears to be a store for old boxes and little required parts.
