Whitethroat (Sylvia communis)
This little warbler, fresh in the country, was found stunned in the middle of a minor road. It was held in the hand to give it time to 'come round', which it duly did after five minutes. Last seen hopping along the base of a hedge!

Measured kilometre
Signs show a measured kilometre on the long straight road beneath Moncreiffe Hill. There are also some strange signs in yards! No sign of a measured mile.
