Salutation Hotel
During the Jacobite Uprising, Charles Edward Stuart with his army entered Perth on 4th September 1745, and was joined there by Lord George Murray, the brother of the Duke of Atholl. While in Perth he resided in this building.

This building is in the centre of the block formed by Princes Street, Canal Street, Speygate and South Street. It is completely surrounded by other buildings and appears to be unmaintained.

Salutation Hotel, South Street Perth
Dating from 1699, the Salutation Hotel on South street is reputedly the oldest hotel operating in Scotland (Image]). It operated as a coaching inn between 1699 to 1745 and was a principal resting point on the coach roads from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Aberdeen and Inverness. The current street elevation was constructed around 1810.
