The Bell Playground, Bridgend, Perth
Laid out on a surprisingly steep site between Strathmore Street and Isla Road, the playground was the gift of Bell's Whisky, whose works are in the town. A plaque at the top records that it was opened by Mrs A K Bell on 20th August 1952. Through the site runs a burn that tumbles down off Kinnoull Hill; in the early 1980s it burbled delightfully past the bottom of our garden.

Icicles in the sunshine
Many houses in Perth were festooned with enormous icicles during the severe cold which followed heavy snowfalls. A few days later as the thaw gradually began many of those overhanging pavements and entrances were removed.

Bridgend Inn
Bridgend Inn, with its pub sign a picture of Perth Bridge, is at the north end of Main Street, Bridgend, just across the Tay from Perth itself. It is in between a modern development of flats and a car exhaust centre. The road is normally busy; this shot was timed perfectly to coincide with a brief gap in the traffic.
