This field on the fringe of the Kinnoull Hill woodland marks the edge of residential development on this side of the Tay and provides extensive views across Perth.

Violets growing wild
Growing at the base of a beech hedge in the gravelled pavement. There are several colonies in this road with colours ranging through all shades of purple to pure white.

Ripening gooseberries
Gooseberries grow very well in this area, and 2009 has seen a bumper crop. These berries were deliberately left to ripen, but as you can see to the right of the photo, the ripest ones have already been eaten by birds.

Roe deer
A frequent visitor to many gardens on this side of Perth. This doe had been feeding on a wide variety of flowers, shrubs and low branches before her presence in the garden was spotted.
