Inside the control tower. The instruments give wind speed and direction - useful information for pilots. The binoculars are there for those 'what is he doing now' moments! Hand written tags record the movements of aircraft. A Cessna 152 taxies out for a training flight.

This is the booking in office for pilots. It handles landing fees, parking fees, fuel and maintenance requirements and provides flight planning facilities. A scale of fees is visible on the wall along with a list of flying courses.

View from the control tower of the aircraft parking area. The blue and white Cessna in the foreground has brought us here from Andrewsfield in Essex in 3 hours and 10 minutes. In the background are the hills in the vicinity of Bandirran. The largest in the view is probably Black Hill.

Passing Scone Aerodrome
Now titled Perth Airport, signs advertise various services from the airfield or associated business park. In the early 1980s, I met a few Libyans who were training here to be pilots.
