Divergence Of Lines
Seen from a passing Strathspey Railway train, this is the point at which the Great North of Scotland Railway line from Boat of Garten to Craigellachie and Elgin branched away from the Highland Railway line to Forres, crossing the River Spey to the town of Nethy. It then followed the east side of the Spey Valley. Opened in 1863, the line closed to all traffic in 1968.

Farmland and Strathspey Steam Railway
A steam train passes between Boat of Garten and Broomhill stations. At the same level, but in front of the steam train is the old dismantled section (with missing bridge!!) between Boat of Garten and Nethy Bridge. The railway junction is very near the last carriage.
