Remnant of Railway Bridge
The Strathspey Railway originally terminated at Nethy Bridge, but it was not long before an extension was built to link the Strathspey Railway to the Highland Railway north of Aviemore. This required two bridges, one across the River Nethy and another across the River Spey. This masonry on an island in the middle of the river, and part of a parapet on the right bank, seem to be all that is left of the former bridge.

New walkway near Nethy Bridge
The Speyside Way follows this new stretch of boarded path between Nethy Bridge and Duackbridge. The route keeps off the road itself where possible.
