Old milepost
A view of the Inverness 35 post from the old A9 now on the Kinrara estate. It is on a grassy triangle disguised by the snow. The added back plate can just be made out which would direct visitors to Kinrara House on the correct estate routes towards Inverness and Perth. Just two of these posts set at 5 miles intervals now remain in situ. One is at Carrbridge, Inverness 25, and the other, Inverness 45, west of Kingussie facing the cycle path.

Old milepost
This post was originally set up in the 1920s on the west side of the A9 which became the B9152 in the 1980s. It was approx 2 miles south of Aviemore and south of Loch Alvie at NH 8639 0882. In 2003 it was photographed lying uprooted on the verge. It is now in the Kinrara Estate about 200m NE from Kinrara House. A back plate has been added which indicates the estate roads towards Inverness and Perth.

Old milepost
A rear view of the 35 miles from Inverness post from the A9/B9152 2 miles south of Aviemore near Alvie. This shows the back plate that has been added to direct visitors to Kinrara House along the estate roads to north and south. Kinrara House and 1000 acres of the estate was bought in 2018 by Danish billionaire Anders Holch Pavison as HQ for his conservation charity, Wild Land Ltd.

Iron deer among deciduous trees
Close to the centre of the image, almost merging with a long tree shadow, there's a metal deer! Such things are not uncommon on deer-stalking estates, being used for practice firing and even perhaps for identification! The slopes rise on the south side of Torr Alvie.
