Warding off Evil Spirits
A brief splash of "disinfectant" to ward off foot and mouth.
Fortunately the outbreak was distant, at the other end of a neighbouring country - the risk all but non existent. At time of writing the outbreak seemed to be under control - fingers crossed (about as effective as the illustrated activity which had something medieval about it)

A dark evening at Alvie
Taken after a run around an orienteering course left on the estate woodlands (not an event, but a few courses left for a couple of months). Rain was starting and a strong wind was rustling the polythene sheeting over some damaged cottage roofs.

Finish, Alvie
The run in at Alvie Home Farm. Taken during Spey 2007, a multi-day orienteering event attracting over 4000 competitors from all over the world.
While this was probably the largest sports event in Scotland this year, with many World class athletes attending, as usual it received no coverage. This is a common fate of sports that have not been chosen for the Olympic Games.

A crossroads, Alvie
Taken from a less used road than the road to the Dulnain which crosses here. The estates here all extend to beyond the River Dulnain, and all have their own road over the hill.

Felled area, Alvie Estate
I got seriously topographically embarrassed here when it was still wooded. Sometime after 1977 this part of the estate's woodland was felled and not replanted.
