A9, Alvie Muir
The lower parts of Alvie Estates forests were a very good orienteering venue, and hosted the warm up event for the 1976 World Championships. Soon afterwards the new A9 was built through the forest.
Exposure of sandy ground has led to dense self seeded pine growth along the road.
