The Dupplin Cross
Kept within St Serf's Church, the Dupplin Cross is an extraordinarily important survival. It is complete, and is associated with a named king, so can be dated. The king is Constantine, son of Fergus, who lived from about AD 789 to 820.

The Dupplin Cross, St Serfs Church
The Dupplin Cross is a rare and important survival, and as it is associated with a named king can be closely dated. One of the inscriptions refers to 'Constantine son of Fergus', who was king of the Picts from about AD789 to 820.

St. Serf's Church, Dunning
No longer used for regular worship, the church is now in the care of Historic Scotland. The burial ground contains the remains of a number of distant family members on my father's side.
