Perth Leisure Pool
The Leisure Pool shares a car park with the nearby Dewars Centre Image The pool complex contains a free form Leisure Pool with two flumes, a wild water channel, poolside whirlpools and bubble beds as well as a heated Outdoor Lagoon, a Kiddies Lagoon and a Training Pool with traditional lanes.

Floral rings
The circular flower bed next to Perth Leisure Pool has a topical display this year with Olympic rings, a red Chinese dragon and the words 'Team GB'. Viewed from the raised walkway that links the Leisure Pool entrance to the Glasgow Road.

Flower power
Looking down from the walkway between Perth Leisure Pool and the Dewars Centre there is a good view of some busy gardeners. Glasgow Road is in the background with modern commercial developments on the other side.

An international bonspiel
The start of a bonspiel at the Dewar's centre between visiting Canadian rinks and rinks from local clubs. Before play started all the players were piped onto the ice in the traditional way. This photo was taken from the viewing window upstairs in the bar, where I was enjoying refreshments after my own game.

Ice technician at work
Preparing the ice for some national play-offs at Dewar's rink. The machine is pushed up and down the ice to scrape the surface clear, then a 'pebble' effect is applied by directing a fine spray of water onto the ice. This provides the right surface for curling.

Three of the eight sheets at Dewar's rink in use at an annual bonspiel organised for Inner Wheel members. A bonspiel is a friendly curling competition.

Dewars Centre
Dewars Centre is a conference and leisure centre featuring conference facilities, an eight lane indoor bowling hall and an eight lane curling rink, which is also used for some skating sessions. As you can see from the car park, it is very busy in the curling season.

Dewar's Corner
At the corner of Glasgow Road and Glover Street, next to the Dewar's Centre. Image The curling facilities at the centre are referenced by the floral display which features brooms, a curling stone planted with ice plants and circular beds planted up to represent the houses at each end of the ice sheet.
