The Lade - Perth
Twenty first century housing alongside the twelfth century canal. It has the distinction of being Scotland's oldest canal, and originally was a moat for the town's defences as well as providing water power to drive mills. Now, unfortunately, it seems to be a receptacle for take away packaging. It originates from the River Almond and flows into the River Tay after a journey of some seven kilometres
