Hal o' the Wynd House, Mill Wynd
An early 18th-century townhouse which features in Walter Scott's novel 'The Fair Maid of Perth', published in 1828. 'Hal o' the Wynd' was the nickname of the real-life Henry Gow, a blacksmith and armourer, who is the lover of the fictitious character Catherine Glover in Scott's novel. The building was restored in 1980-1.
