Urlar houseblock
There is a diversionary path which went fine on a bike (singletrack). Presumably the sign means that equestrian travellers will not be bothered using the road, the diversion being unsuitable for them.

Footpath at Urlar Farm
The obvious route at Urlar would be to walk through the farmyard, but a permissive path has been created along the woodland edge a short distance away. No great hardship to use it.

The road up the Urlar Burn is houseblocked at Urlar. There is a reasonable diversion route beside the burn. It went OK on a bike.

Above the Urlar Burn
The burn is in a steep-sided small glen to the right. The vegetation has all turned brown in the winter, except for the thick growths of lichen.
