Collared Dove (Streptopelia decaocto)
A very distinctive bird with its buffy-pink plumage and black neck collar, it is usually seen singly or in pairs. Collared doves are found largely around man, on farms, in gardens and parks, and most of the countryside except the highest regions. It mainly feeds on grain and seeds, also fruits and berries.

Stanley village centre
Stanley village is named after Lady Amelia Stanley, wife of the 1st Marquess of Atholl, and was laid out on a grid plan in the late 18th century for workers at a nearby cotton mill.
