Monuments around the old parish church of Alyth

Old Parish Kirk Of St Moloc's
This site is probably where the first Christian church in Alyth was built by a contemporary of the Irish missionary Columba, Moluag, an important figure in the early Celtic Church who evangelised the Picts during the 6th century.

Alyth mercat cross
The old cross that used to stand in the roadway at the junction of the High Street and Mill Street marked the site of a wool market. The plaque states that it was erected in 1670 by James, earl of Airlie.
